
Bulgaria's first non-Sofia mall to open in Veliko Tarnovo Sept 15

Entertainment and shopping center Central Mall in Veliko Tarnovo, Northern Bulgaria, will open for business on September 15, said Marin Zgurev, manager of construction company Densi which developed the project. Veliko Tarnovo, a city of around 0.3 mln, will become only the second population center in Bulgaria to have a Western-style shopping mall after the capital Sofia.Sofia's 2 malls - City Center Sofia and Mall of Sofia, were acquired by investment funds while still in development. Ditto for Central Mall which was bought in May ahead of its completion by European Convergence Property Co, an Isle of Man company.
The shopping centre comprises 33,000 sq m of gross area including 16,000 sq m retail floor area plus 1,500 sq m of office net floor area.
Lettable areas have been pre-let to a mixture of well known international and local retailers including Benetton, Esprit, Kenvelo, Pepe Jeans, Levi's and Germanos, supermarket operator Piccadilly and movie theater operator Alexandra Group which will have 3 cinemas in the complex.
