Bulgaria offers attractive property

The Sofia Echo, 2006-02-27

Investors in the UK are interested in destinations far away. Bulgaria is the country of choice for those interested in unusual property offers, Assetz property news service reports.
Bulgaria offers various types of residential property in different regions of the country. Prices there are still relatively low. As a result many people looking for vacation property might become interested.
The upcoming EU accession of the country would undoubtedly raise property prices. In addition Bulgaria’s economic relations with various countries would deepen and a new investment wave is expected soon, the publication reports.
France and Spain remain among the preferred destinations for most British property investors. Yet, the ones more adventurous turn to other destinations, including Bulgaria.
The publication describes Bulgaria’s ski resorts Bansko and Borovets as some of the country’s main investor attractions. Both have well-developed infrastructure, offered at low prices.
"Bulgaria has made noticeable progress in terms of conducting a stable macroeconomic policy... But the recent dynamic of Bulgaria's external accounts indisputably calls for enhanced vigilance," Trichet said. "This dynamic has been largely fed by robust credit growth to the private sector."
Office property also sees increasing investor interest, alongside residential property. Demand is highest in Sofia’s central parts, as well as along the main boulevards in the capital, Bulgarian property experts say in an interview for the publication.
