High-Speed Motorway Construction Underway

     Bulgaria's Executive Road Agency said it will award a contract for the design of a high-speed motorway linking Dupnitsa, on the road to the Greek border, and Ihtiman, close to the Black Sea-bound Trakia highway, via Samokov.
     The new motorway will divert Black Sea-bound traffic from Greece away from Sofia which is on the current route.
     The proposed infrastructure link will shorten by 15 km the road between Sofia and ski resort Borovets, reducing travel time to 30 min.
