Increasing number of British invest in Bulgaria's property sector
sofiaecho.com, 2007-03-04
More than 30 000 Britons have invested in property in Bulgaria. The increased interest is due to the low prices and calm lifestyle in Bulgaria, which differs from that in UK, Daily Telegraph reported. The property market saw a purchase boom in the Black See coastal region as well as in the inner part of the country, particularly in the cities of Veliko Turnovo and Bansko, which is turning into a prestigious winter resort.
The average price of a three-bedroom apartment in London is 255 000 pounds while the price for the same property in Sofia amounted to only 27 000 pounds.
Real estate prices will increase by 10 per cent after Bulgaria became EU member. Despite the increase, life in the country will remain cheaper than in UK.
