Majestic hotel and residence in Bulgaria's Sunny Beach wins Gold medal at 2007 Thomson agency awards

     The four-star holiday complex Majestic Hotel and Residence, located in Sunny Beach resort, ranked first in the Best Summer Accommodation category at the annual Thomson awards. Hundreds of four-star hotels, representing popular tourist destinations like Italy, France, Croatia, Slovenia, Montenegro and Bulgaria, took part in the event, organised by the Thomson tourist agency - a leading British tour operator. The official award ceremony took place on November 13 at London's Tower Hotel.
     Thomson rates the hotels it works alongside using several criteria: the number of tourists who fill out inquiry forms, their overall impression of their stay at the hotel, the quality of the food and the hotel's amenities as well as reception, restaurant and bar service, hygiene, the standard of common areas, room comfort and the availability of day and night attractions.
     Thomson's awards took place at the time of the annual world tourist exhibition in Excel, London, World Travel Market 2007, 12-15 November. The event is one of the prime tourist markets, a venue for the world's large tour operators, tourist agencies, hotels and tourist associations.
     Majestic Hotel and Residence is situated along the front-line of Sunny Beach's northern area. The complex features a four-star hotel, two apartment blocks for sale, a 35-decare garden, comprising green areas and water space, 5 bars, 4 restaurants, 8 conference halls and a SPA centre as well as a fitness and multi-functional sports hall. The hotel's capacity exceeds 2100 beds. Last summer the hotel enjoyed more than 90 per cent occupancy.
