bulgaria-news.eu , 2007-10-19
Starting this month, the lowcost air company Sky Europe will make two flights daily from Sofia to Vienna and back. This was announced by Commercial Manager of the company, Karim Maclauf, at a press-conference, reported the Focus agency. Maclauf said the Bulgarian market is key for the company. He said that, in a macroeconomic plan, Bulgaria registers much higher growth than other European countries. He prognosticated that the number of the transported passengers during 2007 will increase from 50,000 to 130,000. Until now, compared to 2006, the number of passengers has increased by 2.4 percent. During August, the air company reached 91 percent capacity for places in its flights, its highest since it began operating in the Bulgarian market, as only during the last year Sky Europe has transported about 50,000 passengers to and from Bulgaria. For the first six months of 2007, the company reached 80 percent capacity, which Maclauf said was a great success. Also, the European company will start new direct flights to 11 European destinations. Every day there will be flights to Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris, Innsburg and Warsaw. Three times a week there will be flights to Thessaloniki, Venice and Nice, and four times a week to Krakow and Athens, with the price of tickets starting at 27 Euro. The company said it also has a special offer, named "Sky Angel," which will be valid until October 12, 2007. The new product will be developed jointly with Vivatel and Hewlett- Packard. The word is that "executive opportunities for flights with guaranteed low prices will be offered to people on the streets or at unexpected places," explained Maclauf. Also, the company is proposing special business offers for regular customers, allowing changing the name of the passenger or the reservation at the last moment. It expected that by the end of the year the profits of the company will increase up to 35 percent. At the moment, it owns 14 Boeing 737–700NGs with maximum age of only nine months. By 2011 the airplane fleet will reach 32 planes.Latest news about Bulgarian property market
