The village is situated in the magnificent Rila mountain, about 60km far from the capital Sofia and only 5km southwest of the town of Samokov. It is a hospitable settlement benefiting from its exclusively attractive location at just 14km away from the popular ski resort of Borovets and 10 km from the ski complex Malyovitsa. It is a starting point for hiking tours in the Rila mountain. Just 3km outside the village, one can find many holiday houses, recreational centres, private villas, as well as a tourist base with 100 beds in bungalows. Among these is the Mechit Chalet with one of the best ski-runs in the country, served by a ski tug. There are several family hotels as well as many restaurants in the village, too. There is a bus connection with Samokov several times a day.
