The village and its surroundings are famous for their wines, and have typical Bulgarian countryside atmosphere. There is no heavy industry in this region and all people make their living mainly by a traditional, organic agriculture. There are several shops, cafeteria, pub, school and a church. Outside the village, within walking distance, there is a micro dam which is famous among the local birdwatchers for the unique species including two kinds of eagles. One of Bulgaria's biggest dams, Stamboliyski, a popular fishing and recreation destination, stands 25 km. away. Two nearby small towns - Pavlikeni and Bjala Cherkva - offer all the necessary shopping and banking amenities. Within a radius of 50 km, there are many historic villages, churches and monasteries which make the region a favorite destination for both Bulgarians and foreign visitors.
